I encourage you to search the forums. There are probably 1,000 posts on the Macbook Air's lack of a backlit keyboard.

Apple has been the extreme minority in selling personal computers since 1986. Their pc marketshare has been below 10% for how long? 20+ years...and still is even though they are selling like hotcakes.
I like the Macs...I also like the Wintels. And I also, as a consumer, am not going to plunk down $1200+ for a Mac when a $600-$700 PC will allow me to do 100% of the same stuff just using different name-brand-products. :) And other consumers who are out there looking to buy a new computer to surf the web, play music, surf Youtube, upload pix, go to Facebook, use online chat, read email, (and a billion other online activities) are going to ask themselves "why am I spending $1200 for a Mac using Firefox when I can buy a $600 PC using the same Firefox?"
I don't want to go too off topic but suffice to say these days, so much pc time is spent online that you could be using any computer manufacturer/OS in the world that supports Firefox or Safari or IE and you'd have the same experience. Why spend double?
No one wants to pluck down $6-$700 as you claim every other year as their Windows PC's fall a part. I'd rather just throw down for a Mac that will withstand the test of time.

This would be stealing, as my contract obliges me to continue paying for the cost of the hardware, which really isn't paid for, when I first get the phone. I agree with the others however, that AT&T should unlock the phone, once the contract is up, or that Apple should offer an unlocked phone, albeit at a higher price. I am thinking of expat pilots who live in the UAE flying for an international carrier for 20 days and then get to come back stateside for 10. They really need a solution like that. The next thing that AT&T should do, then, is have a different pricing structure for those with legitimately unlocked phones. After all, that phone didn't cost AT&T a dime.
Only speaking to the US market. In re equipment cost recovery:
After the 2 year contract, I do not see a reduction in my monthly Verizon bill. I have paid for the device, so why is there no reduction?

I heard they found him using findmyiphone:D
I heard that too. I also heard the illicit location data Apple was storing was actually designed at pinpointing this guy.
I'm not going to say where I heard it, but there were at least 3 "official" sources.

You could do without the RAID-card altogether and just install 4 drives in the bays in the Mac Pro and use the ZFS filesystem (http://code.google.com/p/maczfs/) to make a dynamic stripe in RAID-Z, so you will get RAID-5 like performance but with better protection and data integrity.
You can't boot OS X from zfs, you can't use spotlight very well on zfs, quite a lot of applications/games won't work properly because zfs isn't case-insensitive and there are some more small problems. Zfs is great for a fileserver and various other kind of servers but in a Mac it's still hfs+ that is the best option (even though zfs is a much better filesystem).

Just wondering other ppl's experience with Firefox 4 on the MBA, I still use 3.6.17 and it's been great except for the Flash/YouTube fan issue.
Does the upgrade fix the issue by any chance? Any reason why I should not upgrade?

Don't underestimate the power of javascript.
I can second that... Most people underestimnate the potential of JavaScript. The software company I have a contract with at the moment writes their whole player software in JavaScript. It is jaw dropping what the guys do with "just" JavaScript!

At this point there is some progress and an issue with finding the graphics containing pdf file. Is there some particular rule to follow about where the graphic files should be located?

It says this;
Antatt utsendelsesdato (Ships on): 03 May, 2011
Antatt leveringsdato (Estimated delivery): 23 May, 2011
Could it be here earlier? Seriously, does it take Apple 20 days to send something from Taiwan to Norway? I clearly understand why the shipping is free.
Well that doesn't sound right (and btw, shouldn't it be coming from mainland China, not Taiwan?), but then I'm not familiar with the shipping situation in Norway. All I can tell you is that in the US, Apple shipping a product from China to US usually takes about 5-7 days.
Could someone please answer my question in my previous post?
And btw, what does "Merge In Tnst NL Til" mean? oO
Again, I have no idea. And I doubt anyone at MacRumors will know. You should just call up Apple's customer service.

I would not say the iPad stinks as an ereader, but the kindle is certainly better for reading books. I have read 15 to 20 full length books on my iPad, about the same on my phone, and hundreds on my kindle.
I travel a lot , so since I got my iPad, I do not bring the kindle (I have a DX). I am actually considering buying a little one just for novels, I got the DX for PDFs, a function the iPAD is 1000000 times better suited for.
All three devices are better than a PC for reading books. The order is clearly Kindle, iPad, iPhone.
You're right..."stinks" is a bad choice of words....but clearly the iPad is nowhere near the same ballpark of a reading experience when it comes to reading books...sitting in front of the screen for 1-3 hours at a time.
Reading restaurant menus as PDFs or emails or blogs or websites...the iPad is great and definitely better than the Kindle...the Kindle needs to either put a 10000x better web browser on the product or kill it...it's terrible...especially just typing in a URL. Keyboard could use a major overhaul, too.

Definately not as intuitive as a scroll whell but if Apple couldn't/can't implement it with its engineering prowess I doubt anyone else could.

Why would you spread rumors of a 4.3.1? What's your source for the pwn2own "publically" found bug on 4.3? Do share wise one.

[QUOTE=flipperfeet What a dream to earn just one half of one cent of every iTunes purchase. If globally they sell a million songs a day, I'd receive $5k a day or $1,825,000 a year.[/QUOTE]
Yes but to a "capitalist" he thinks. If I invest my $10,000,000 here I will make a 1.5% return but if I invest it here I make 6%. Yes one percent of $10M is good money but if you are not making a competivie return then investors take their money and walk.
I used to work for Huges Aircraft company. It was a big aerospace company the made a pile of money and was owned by the Huges Medical foundation. Howard Huges set it up so that the profits from the company would flow into medical reasearch. Nice of him. But the medical foundation eventually decided they would make even more money if they sold the company and pt the money in the bank. They did just that.
