Where is this plist coming from? If the "jpegphoto" was an NSData that'd be pretty obvious how to load it, but since it's an array it's unclear what the array is holding.
Can you loop through the array and print out the class name of each of its objects?

Cool! I'll be there around midnight, and my dad will follow shortly after. I reserved, he sadly did not. :(
Walked by around 3pm, there were maybe 10-15 people in the walk-in line, nobody in the reserve line. (Though there were a few bikes... Not sure what that means.)
Excited! I camped out here for the iPad launch (first in the store, derp!) and it was a lot of fun. Charging everything now to last through the night!

There's no reason to run Garageband on a secondary drive, unless of course you're taking a performance hit due to a drive filling up.
But back everything up, multiple copies of .aiff's, .aac's and especially .band's.
Thanks, man. That's definitely what I'm going to do now.

I think that was pre-announcement. I read where trading was halted until 4:50 EDT. Still have 7 minutes to see if the "soft" iPad numbers cause the weak hands to sell.
I'm guessing that Apple will drop about 3% from the 4PM close with people focusing on the iPad numbers.
Still trading, AFAIK. 2.6% now.

Asleep on a buddies futon in LA. He came in, woke me up, told me what happened and turned on the TV. He saw 2nd plane hit the tower live and that's when he woke me up.
I basically stayed glued to the news and internet sites/forums the whole day.

I used to be able to do it in Compressor. It took ages for it to accept a mkv file that I had dragged into it, but after a VERY long while the spinning beach ball would stop and it would appear in the window so I could apply whatever DVD settings I wanted.
However that seems to have stopped working. But if you have an older version of Compressor or haven't upgraded your system in a while you might try it.
Otherwise, if you have the late lamented Visualhub (or are able to find a working version) you can convert the mkv directly to a DVD.
Or you can use Handbrake to convert the mkv using the best quality settings possible and then use Compressor (if you have it) to make a DVD
Those are all things I've done so I know they work.
I haven't done this but it seems to work - if you have Toast, drag the mkv into the Video tab with DVD-Video chosen.

This is so weird. I mean I have an iPod touch 4th gen, DS, PSP and I've got all my handheld consoles stored away. But I just can't get into iPod gaming. Your fingers get in the way most of the time and it just doesn't feel like a fully polished experience for 99% of games on the App store.
That's because touchscreen interfaces are still a new thing and it's going to take time and trial-and-error to figure out how to best use it for gaming. We're already seeing little moments of brilliance here and there. Have you tried Super MonkeyBall or Myst on iPad? They're right at home--better than in their original platforms.
But most game companies aren't looking at that yet. Right now, we're dealing with a lot of game companies wanting to impose virtual buttons or joysticks on the screen, which IMO, is a kludge. But then a game like Angry Birds comes along and it's a huge hit because they work with the hardware instead of trying to tie it down to the old way of doing things. Imagine playing Angry Birds on a console. What a painful experience that would be. And yet on a touchscreen, it's a pure joy.
Give it time. This touchscreen gaming thing has just started, and it will continue getting better as game companies figure out how to work with the hardware instead of fighting it.

I agree, but is it (appropriate/right/legal) to just copy-paste the relevant material into the guide?
Depends on the License we'll be using. I don't think arn has decided on one yet.
For now, I believe, copy'n pasting is legally questionable...

Have you tried looking here (http://forums.macrumors.com/showthread.php?t=581552). I guess it all depends on what model you have.
Thanks, I figured they would have that on there, but never checked it out. I will ask them when they call again. I am waiting on better pics to show the damage they are claiming to be there. That photo does not show me really anything that they are claiming.

I have recently acquired a PowerBook Duo 280c with an Apple Mini Dock, a Micro Dock and a floppy drive. I also have an AsanteTalk, which acts as a physical bridge between RJ45 ethernet and LocalTalk networks. It's running Mac OS 7.6.1.
On my desktop is a MacBook Pro Core Duo with OS X v10.6, an internet connection and a USB floppy drive.
I have a stack of System 7 software, but mostly on CD. There also still seems to be a lot hanging around the Internet.
What I want to do is get software onto the Duo. I know nothing whatsoever technical about the Classic OS or LocalTalk. I am aware that a USB floppy drive won't read traditional Mac formatted disks, though OS 7.6.1 seems to have some level of support for DOS floppies.
So, I guess:

I have a friend with a similar machine where I think the graphics chip is getting flaky -- replacement logic boards are surprisingly expensive, though I found a couple places that will fix it mail-order for around $350 US. Apple might even fix it for around that price too. I'll be interested to see what you come up with.
Yes -- I posted on the Apple flat rate $350, out of warranty fix it plan. I was using it to get the logic board replaced on my 2006 original core duo mbp. They started the transaction for me in the apple store at the genius bar, and apparently the only real requirement is that the laptop isn't badly physically damaged or liquid damaged. You could probably start the process with applecare representatives as well, even though you're out of warranty.
They estimated 5-7 days to turn it around for me. After 10 days or so they were still waiting for the part. When I called they expedited it, then after another two days, just offered me a 50% discount on a new mbp.
I happily took them up on their order, and they set up a CTO 15" mbp for me at my request. Ended up saving over $1000 off of the full price. A very nice turn of events that, given how scarce those old logic boards appear to be, may well end up happening to you as well. If not, it's a fairly cheap repair, all things considered.

Adobe CS5 Photoshop Classroom in a Book should show you the basics
Amazon link ...
http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_noss?url=search-alias%3Daps&field-keywords=classroom+in+a+book&x=0&y=0
shows more than the basics! I got this book for Christmas and it is fantastic. Very easy to follow and if you want to learn specific features it is easy to jump around from section to section.
Classroom in a Book +1 here!
I used the photoshop classroom in a book back when it was Photoshop 5.0. My freshman college digital class was based off that book. I already had experience but the book was a great reference and unlike online tutorials, it explained "why" you do a certain thing not just "how". I highly recommend it.

You're right.
I looked at the docs for applicationShouldTerminateAfterLastWindowClosed and it says:
It sends this message regardless of whether there are still panels open. (A panel in this case is defined as being an instance of NSPanel or one of its subclasses.)
So you need to handle this somehow, possibly like this:
- (BOOL)applicationShouldTerminateAfterLastWindowClosed:(NSApplication *)theApplication

It's a US Navy Battleship of some kind, my initial thought was part of The Great White Fleet, but I'm not sure.
Pre-dreadnought, so likely before, what, 1900 I think? The battleships that followed lacked the decorations you saw on the old ones. Stuff like that gold-coloured scroll-y stuff on the bow were completely pass after the turn of the century or so.
snip, dude
It would be great if you could post a link. Thanks. That pic is awesome. :)

I believe I saw an EFI update that addressed issues with fans, check the apple support site, it may be what you need.

Thanks, but I saw nothing regarding my early '08 machine. I have the latest firmware update already. Not sure what it would have to do with it locking up while using Safari?

If you have an unformated hard drive in there then the Mini should automatically boot from the DVD, no key press required. The Mini should look for any available bootable OS's on startup and lacking it's default, choose one.
Are you getting a Kernel Panic screen on boot? A gray screen telling you to restart your computer by pressing the power button in multiple languages? If so then something is amiss, because unless something has changed in the last few years, without a bootable OS the mini should just flash a circle with a line through it (no idea what the symbol is called, but like a No Smoking sign without a cigarette in it).
Are you trying to start up from the Restore DVD that came with the Mini or a retail Snow Leopard DVD?
Thank you, Norouzi - your description fits what I see on my screen, ie. it must be the Kernel Panic screen, meaning that my new Mini didn't like the unformatted bigger and speedier HD that I put in there.
I was trying to start by installing the Snow Leopard with an authentic installation DVD.
I just borrowed an Apple USB keyboard from my banker over the week end :) - so I'll just give it try, hopefully at least I can eject the DVD with it.

People who want an iPhone will buy an iPhone.
My point was - with either rumored scenario, it seems that 3GS owners looking for a upgrade are going to deal with more buyers remorse than normal.
Buying something 6+ months before the new version gets released is normally not an issue, so if a new iPhone comes out in Sept, I could reasonably get an iPhone 4 now and not be a "generation behind" so quickly. But if I were to get one now (expecting a Sept launch) and the new one comes out in June, that'll suck. But waiting till June just to find out the new one will be in Sept would also suck... There doesn't seem to be a way to "win" with this update...
The line about looking elsewhere comes from my phone seemingly deteriorating in front of my eyes and the need for an upgrade not being satisfied by Apple. I'm not a blind fanboy that HAS to stick with an iPhone - it's just been the best phone I've used for the past 4 years (user since 2G). But with this shift in the timeline, the "new phone every 2 years" turned into a "new phone every 28-30 months"? That's too long. My phone probably wont last another 6 months...

I would love to do that, but I have to work tomorrow :( Maybe i ll just stop by and chill, i dont know.
Disclaimer: im hearing impaired haha.
You should just stop by, what time do you think?
Talking this over with the wife, it will be about a 21hr. wait, and i need to consider if my Back will hold out that long, But what makes it fun is being with everyone else that has the same interests.
Ben is their Any problems with catching some shuteye and other "Spectators" that are not in the Apple line leaving you alone? And what about the Dreaded "Restroom" Facility's being available if needed?
Sorry for asking so many questions, just have to get all the info i can, Im not to young anymore, But this is something I would like to do.
I have a 3 part tent "1 Large Middle and 2 small separate tents linked by a tunnel for privacy" It can be used for up to 12 people "Mini Condo Type" i would be willing to bring that and even share with other folks waiting also.
No problem with legitimate questions, I have seen people bring tents before but I never have because I just sit in a chair or talk with others. Actually a lot of tents before I have seen. Because of the late launch I bet more people bring tents just for the day as well.
As for other people problems, not really. They alone time I had a problem was during the iPhone 4 launch when a bunch of people drove by and taunted everyone because they pre-ordered and got it in the mail earlier.
Restrooms, the ones in the mall are usually locked but not every time. Two options I have done before, the Hyatt hotel to the north is open to the public until midnight, I think, but I have gone there. Then the Radison hotel, which kinda far, is always open and I have gone there as well.

I don't know anything about ATA passwords, but one of the expected new features of Lion is whole disk encryption. You might as well wait for that and get it free with the OS and supported by Apple.
I'm aware, but that is months away, and who knows how long it will take for this Filevault re-write to be stable. Since I'm operating as a consultant, I can't necessarily wait for that.
So... no one knows if this is possible?

I did a search (although my search may have been less than perfect) and didn't find a thread on this, so here goes...
Twice in the last 10 days my MacPro has locked up while browsing Safari. Fans go full speed and sounds like it's going to fly away. I have to hard shut down and when I do, the power light blinks off and on. No sequence, just off and on. I do a power reset by unplugging the tower for 30 seconds and pressing the power button to clear memory. Startup and all is good. I can't find anything in the logs that indicate a memory issue or possible graphics card problem.
Any suggestions?
P.S. I'm using an early '08 MacPro (2.8 8 core) with a WD SSD boot drive, 8 gigs of RAM and have the ATI Radeon HD 3870. I also ran Rember to test memory and that said everything was good.
